linksys wifi extender setup

The first, easiest, and most crucial method is to examine the entire WiFi network and the networked devices as well. Ensure the Linksys RE6500 device is configured perfectly and the devices are connected to the right network. More than that, the ethernet wires and the ethernet ports in the wired connections must be operating well. Check and change the wireless channel to avoid signal interruptions from other wireless networks in your area.

Check Security Encryption

Make sure that security encryption is enabled on both devices such as WPA2 and WPA3. This will ensure that your wireless network is safer and more secure. The security settings must be the same on the extender and router. Further, you can create and set a strong password to make the network log out from external devices. Here, we reckon you to do this often to prevent the network from unauthorized access.

Reboot The Extender

If the above-written settings are accurate but you still face intermittent connection problems with RE6500 extender. As there might be an error from the technical end which can be inevitable. So, in this case, do the power cycle of the extender.

Unplug the extender and router from the power sockets and disconnect the devices from the network as well. Meanwhile, contact your Internet Service Provider and verify whether the internet plan is working or not.

Update the internet plan if required. Later, plug in both devices again and attach your devices to the extender network. As a result, the networked devices will now start getting stable internet signals without a drop-off issue.

Relocate The Extender

While rebooting the device, use another location for the extender placement and move it closer to the router. Also, try using a different power socket and a different device this time.
